In less than 5 months the 25th edition of the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors will take place!

Leal Teofilo, from Brazil to Geneva to join the volunteer team of the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors

In addition to the players, individuals from all walks of life also contact us to commit themselves as members of the group of volunteers of the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors. Their investment, in addition to making the organisation of this tournament possible, allows them to live a great human experience, to establish new contacts with tchoukball players from a multitude of countries while learning a lot about our sport!

You will find below the interesting example of Leal Teofilo, a 36 year old physical education teacher who lives in Brazil and who will come to Geneva in December 2022 for almost 3 weeks during the 25th edition of the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors.

He has been playing Tchoukball since 2001 and already has a good experience of international Tchoukball having already participated in Tchoukball development projects in Tunisia and Kenya. Today, he has decided to participate in the Geneva Indoors in December 2022 as a volunteer and we are looking forward to having him on our staff!

Interview with Leal Teófilo

How did you discover the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors?
"I found out about the TGI a few years ago through my friend Julio Cagliari when I talked to him about this great event. I have also been to Geneva twice in 2005 and 2007, so it is a pleasure for me to be able to come and work with you."

What area would you like to be assigned to while volunteering at the next Tchoukball Geneva Indoors?
"Where I would perhaps like to be the most present, would be the setting up of the pre-match, the welcoming and the orientation of the public or the animation. Indeed, I have no problem to work in different sectors.

By joining the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors team, you will become part of a motivated and dynamic team whose competence in organising a quality event for participants and spectators is widely recognised. You will contribute to the success of a world-class event, while living a great human adventure.

You have the choice of contributing to the smooth running of many areas, depending on your motivations and skills. Here is a selection of the different sectors that are recruiting:

• Team reception: Contact person for foreign teams, team reception for civil protection dormitories, etc..
• Refereeing: Junior refereeing, elite refereeing, scoring, etc..
• Logistics: Installation, handling, decoration, dismantling, cleaning, tidying of reception areas, etc...
• Breakfasts: Installation, service, etc..
• Catering: Refreshment service, supply, cleaning, tidying, etc..
• Samaritans and security: Support Samaritans, security control, etc..
• Photographers
• Communication: News editor, press release editor, website management, newsletter editor, social networks, etc..
• Technical support: Support to the technical team, etc..
• TV-Video: Support to the video team, sound system, game commentator etc..
• Ceremony: Microphone host, ceremony hostess, mascot host, help with ceremony operations, etc..

We are also always happy to welcome international staff. We are especially always looking for motivate tchoukball referees for juniors and international games.

For people from outside Geneva, we can offer free accommodation and food during the tournament days.

The Geneva Dragons confirm their participation
in the Champions Cup 2022

After a great 2021-2022 season, during which they won the Champions Cup in December 2021, the Geneva Dragons have confirmed their participation in the 25th edition of the TGI, during the Champions Cup, which will take place on Sunday 18^th December 2022.

The presence of the Geneva Dragons in this competition allows us to ensure the show and the high level of play of this tournament. Indeed, they have shown that they are one of the best club teams in Europe by winning the title of Swiss champions this year and by obtaining a very good 3rd place in the European Winners Cup in May 2022 in Warsaw.

By announcing their participation in the Champions Cup of this 25th edition of the TGI, the title holders of the Champions Cup, share with us their motivation to meet the other best club teams of Switzerland and Europe.

The Champions Cup is an anticipated event for the Geneva Dragons - why?
"Just like the European Winners Cup, the TGI Champions Cup is an unmissable event to compete against the best players in Europe.  Moreover, the number of participating teams as well as the exceptional setting of the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors gives a very special flavour to the elite teams that participate in this event. After these 2 years of covid, I am really looking forward to meeting the other teams of the leading clubs in Europe on the field! Maybe we will even have the chance to meet the elite club teams from other continents!"

How will you prepare for the Champions Cup?
"We are preparing for this competition with the same commitment as the most important events of the season. Since we are the defending champions of this tournament this year, we will certainly enter it with even more determination to win the title for the second time in a row!"

How do you feel about the 2022 Champions Cup as a player?
"It's a great challenge for me! I will once again be able to compete against some of the best players in the world and at the same time continue to develop and progress thanks to the experience I will be able to gather there. It's really a great opportunity to learn more about yourself from some of the world's elite."

How do you feel about the 2022 Champions Cup as a coach?
"As the winning team of the last edition, I know that the Geneva Dragons will be followed closely and we will have to be very careful with the teams we will meet from the beginning of the competition. Regardless, for our team this is one of the highlights of the season that allows us to compete against the best."

Any message for any potential opponents the Dragons may face during this Champions Cup?
"Whether it's club teams from Switzerland or internationally, we're really looking forward to seeing you on the pitch! Come and enjoy with us the intensity of this great tournament in which you have to give everything right away because the tournament is only held on one day. Be prepared because the Geneva Dragons will be there!"

Registration is open - join us in December 2022

The Geneva Indoors 2022 will take place from 7 to 18 December and it is now possible to register. Indeed, the registration page for December 2022 is available on our website.

On this page, you can register for:

• Junior tournaments, which will be played on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December 2022
• Open tournaments, which will be played on Saturday 17 December 2022
• The Champions Cup, which will be played on Sunday 18 December 2022

The registration deadline for all these tournaments is 31 October 2022.

The Nations Cup, to be played from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 December 2022, in the men's, women's, boys' U18 and girls' U18 categories. The registration deadline for this prestigious competition is 30 September 2022. In the last newsletter we announced that the official broadcasting channel of the TGI would be one of the broadcasters for the Panamerican Games which took place from July 12^th to 17^th, as well as for the European Championships which will take place from August 3^rd to 6^th. It is with great regret that we inform you that the Tchoukball Promotion channel will not be among the broadcasters of these two competitions. However, we still expect many of you to follow the high level matches that will be back in October with the Geneva Dragons. 

However, in order to stimulate your impatience to participate in this next edition of the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors, we regularly publish new videos, including for example the best actions of the final phases of the Mixed Super Cup of the last edition through this video.
