Getting ready for December - meet the new people behind the scenes!

All different areas are working on getting ready for the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors, which will take place from 8th to 19th December 2021. The organisation committee is proud to present three special projects we currently are working on and the people who are going to ensure that these projects run smoothly at the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors and the Nations Cup in December.

First out is Louis Gennet, who has agreed to head up our TV commentator team.

Louis has been part of the team since 2018 and has already commented live many of the games of the Nations Cup. While until 2018 we only commented the games in French, we extended the comments in 2019 to English and Chinese. For the future we are looking into providing even more languages. This is now manly depending on the international staff willing to get involved in our commentator team. This, combined with the wish to bring the audio of a game to the same high standards as the video production, requires quite some more preparation and coordination. Louis has kindly accepted this challenge!

Max Generowicz has agreed to head the statistics team. Max significantly contributed to all the work done to provide the statistics of many of the 2019 Nations Cup games. The statistics provide a lot of interesting information for players and coaches but also to the communication and media team and for the broader public. The work done in 2019 is a solid foundation and is available here. Have a look, it is impressive and very interesting.  It is now time to build on this and prepare the future. Many ideas and visions have already been formulated. We need now to get prepared for the 2021 edition, recruit the people to assist in this work and define what ideas can be realised in 2021 already.

Many of you already know Alexandre Dubois, either from his many, many years as key player of the Swiss men team, or as referee coordinator at the Nations Cup.

Alexandre has now agreed to take up an additional challenge. He is going to supervise the creation of our IT database, which in future will host all games, player profiles and distribute the live results of the Nations Cup games. This project is going to grow over many years to come. Its first milestone is to provide us with live results from the Nations Cup in December 2021.

You have a special talent or interest, which can help the Tchoukball Geneva Indoors to become even better? You wish to contribute to the future succes of the event? Get in touch with us, we would be delighted to include you in our team!

Our communication team, which from year to year is growing, is looking for:

  • a journalist / content writer
  • press officer: providing media with press releases
  • community manager for our social media content
  • assist the international TV broadcasting

Other sectors of the TGI are also looking for people interested to contribute in areas such as:

  • Sound engineer for live TV production and commentating
  • Entertainment and speaker onsite
  • Refereeing the Nations Cup
  • Referee and coach at the junior tournaments

If you are interested in any of the above positions or would like to join the team in another area, please get in touch with Daniel Buschbeck.

In the current uncertain times, where so many activities are cancelled, we invite you to start planning your venue with your teams now. It will lift their spirit to project themselves to the playing fields in Geneva in December! And when you start talking about the Geneva Indoors, please let us also know that you are planning to come. This will bring a smile to our faces and help us a lot in preparing for your venue.

You'll find detailed information on our 2021 registration page. And if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Erika Mesmer - she is looking forward to assist you.
